Summer info for 2009...Pretty much the same for 2010: Will update as I get more info:
2. All, I am providing this info during a quiet lull for summer planning. If your son loves the game and is serious about getting better for next year… he needs to be playing during the offseason. Last year everyone of my returning varsity players went to at least one of the lacrosse camps below ( many went to a overnight camp and a Wesleyan/Marechek camp). This year chilled ponds may have /or is rumored to have a summer league and a fall opportunity and I will pass that info along when and if I get it. Understand lacrosse is not an inexpensive sport, but a couple of the camps below are reasonably priced and will put a stick in your sons hand while running for at least 4 days (priceless if it’s hard to get your teenager outside in the summer). Some of these camps you need to sign up relatively soon because they do fill up (local camps not so much) My son went to the Navy camp with Dillon and Ben last year and had a blast. This year all three want to go to the UVA camp… Both my sons have gone to the Wesleyan camps and have had a great time (food is great). This is a great local camp and reasonably priced. My 8 year old will be going to the Marechek camp. Sam Goodwyn went to this camp last year. I have heard this is a very good camp and maybe a bit more focused on individual skills than Wesleyan. It is more expensive.
Will Wright and Brandon went to the Top Star Camp and also had a great lacrosse experience….note this is a tough camp and focuses more on the experience player…
